This is an annual event of the Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry, is held with the vibrant activities of sports, cultural and artistic. This year, the 19^th Tourism Festival is also to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country (30th April 1975 - 30th April 2023).

The Department of Tourism coordinated with the Tourism Association of Ho Chi Minh City to hold a press conference on 28th March, to announce the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023.

At the press conference, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City said, the Tourism Festival will mark a blissful year of recovery and development of the city’s tourism industry. By improving the quality of tourism services and promoting tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to visitors, boosting domestic tourism in the summer of 2023, creating conditions for localities and businesses to access and introduce tourism products and services to visitors. The organisation of the Tourism Festival combines culture and cuisine, creating a series of rich and unique activities to attract local people and visitors to the Festival; thereby, presenting a “Safe - Attractive - Friendly” Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international visitors.

The event will have nearly 100 stalls, including 46 stalls from provinces and cities along with 30 tourism service businesses and other units. 3 areas will be set up, including: Space to promote tourism, Space for exhibition and display, Space for food. At the booths, units and businesses will design and display their typical products and services; organise B2C meetings, self-introduction, offer new and attractive tourism products and services through activities, prize-winning games, preferential tour packages…

In addition to the Opening and Closing ceremonies, the highlight of the festival will be the Job Exchange in the tourism industry in 2023, taking place on 7th April at the main stage of Zone B, 23/9 Park. It aims to connect tourism service businesses that are in need of recruitment.

In the framework of the Festival, talk shows and seminars will also take place. Additionally, visitors will grand a opportunity to enjoy art performances, such as: Pop, Acoustic, walk on stilts performance, pebble drawing, bag painting workshop, ao dai painting on paper, rice painting, intangible cultural performance; carnival map game; exchange and introduce about culture, tourist destinations between provinces, tourism businesses for visitors…

The Organising Board also organises a examine route to introduce Ho Chi Minh City's typical tourist destinations and products, Famtrip programmes for travel businesses to learn, connect and develop tourism packages.

The Festival is to respond to the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 “Binh Thuan - Green tourism comes together”, acts a hand to promote linkages in tourism development with regions, recover swiftly, develop sustainably and contribute to the development of tourism and economy of the country.
