(TITC) - A series of cultural and sports events to promote tourism in 2023 with the theme "Ly Son - Wonders of the sea and island" will take place at the end of April. This is information from Press Conference organised the People’s Committee of Ly Son District (Quang Ngai Province) On 30th March 2023.
Cau Cave - Ly Son Island
Ly Son island district located northeast of Quang Ngai Province, contains many unique landscapes, associated with the remnants of erupting volcano, national monuments and relics related to the old Hoang Sa fleet, Sa Huynh cultural relics, traces of Champa culture. The island district is known as the "Kingdom of Garlic" because of its distinctive flavor. Ly Son is becoming an attractive tourist destination.
Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ly Son District said, a series of cultural and sports events to promote tourism in 2023 will be held from 29 April to 22 May. This is a highlight in product development progress, attracting more domestic and international visitors to Ly Son.
Activities to take place this year include: Opening ceremony; Open Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament in Quang Ngai Province; Traditional Boat Racing Festival of Four supernatural creatures; display products and introduce typical cuisine of Ly Son and localities in the province; display documents, artefacts, photos, with the theme "Ly Son - Cultural Heritage of the Sea and Island"; Nationwide Paragliding Championship; Athletics Championship "Ly Son Island Road"; Sea swim tournament...
Moreover, the People's Committee of Ly Son has boosted promotion, application of information technology in communication, and widely implemented stimulus packages for tourism markets, both domestic and international... to attract visitors to Ly Son.
