Visitors will admire a large number of hot air balloons of all colours, sizes and types in the festival. This is an opportunity to fall in love and explore unique things, spending time sitting on the hot air balloons to watch the entire view of Hue Citadel - one of the World Cultural Heritage.

The experience of flying at high altitude to watch the dawn of the Ancient Capital is one of the highlights of the festival. The most famous scenic spots of Hue such as Perfume River, Ngu Mountain, Tam Giang lagoon... will appear in a different angle - from the hot air balloons.

The number of hot air balloons in the festival with the expectation of 12 large hot air balloons, 25-28m in diameter, fly 300-500m above ground level, 02 visitors per flight. To get the most convincing experience, visitors can choose one of two forms of hot air balloon flight: free flight or anchored flight.

Free flights are scheduled at 6 am daily, each flight carrying 02-03 passengers with the pilot; Hot air balloons fly at an altitude of 300-500m and fly from 5 to 10km from the take-off point. The duration for each flight is from 45-60 minutes in weather conditions without rain and wind velocity above 15 km/h. Anchored flights are scheduled from 5.30pm to 7.30pm daily, each flight carrying 02-03 passengers with the pilot; Hot air balloons fly at an altitude of 30-50m above ground level. The duration for each flight is 05 minutes in weather conditions without rain and wind velocity below 08 km/h.

Mr. Pham Do Hoan - Representative of the Organising Board said, in recent years, hot air balloons tourism has become a favourite type of travel in Vietnam, not only to please visitors who are adventurous lovers but also to bring a new perspective of the country's scenic spots.

Besides travelling to experience hot air balloons, visitors are also immersed in an extremely attractive entertainment, recreation and culinary space. The food festival takes place from 10am to 10pm daily during the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Visitors will enjoy dishes at 20 typical food stalls of Hue and regions. The recreation area promises to be an exciting part for children with the entertainment complex includes 3 genres with 9 game devices: children's games (3-7 years old), family games, adventure games (over 12 years old). The entertainment venue is in the area in front of Thua Thien Hue Sports Center (No. 01 Ha Huy Tap Street).

Another highlight of the Hot Air Balloon Festival this year is the EDM Music Night with the participation of famous rappers and many other artists.

Besides, the VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue also takes place at the same time as the festival (16th April). 10,000 runners and about 20,000 accompanying relatives will have more options to experience in the Ancient Capital.
