(TITC) - On 13th April 2023, in Ha Noi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) and Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee organised the Press Conference to introduce Hung Temple Festival, Fatherland Culture and Tourism Week 2023 and activities to introduce and promote Vietnam's cultural heritage. MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong and Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee’s Vice Chairman Ho Dai Dung co-chaired the event.

The Festival (taking place in Phu Tho Province) aims to show respect to ancestors, following the ancestral worship traditions of most Vietnamese families. Moreover, the worship of Hung Kings in Phu Tho Province was officially recognised as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2012.
From 21st to 28th April, activities that will be held during the course of the festival include: the opening ceremony of the Hung Kings Temple Festival and Fatherland Culture and Tourism Week 2023 at 8pm on 21st April, at Hung Vuong square (Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province); Performances of Vietnam's intangible cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO; The 20th anniversary of the implementation of the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage; Conference - Workshop "Promoting the role of cultural heritage associated with tourism development"; Exhibition of cultural heritage and tourism in Vietnam's capital regions.
According to leaders of Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, in addition to these 5 above events in collaboration with MOCST, there are as many as 20 important cultural and tourism events, along with a series of cultural, tourism and commercial activities during the Hung Temple Festival, Fatherland Culture and Tourism Week 2023.
