Vietnam and China join hands to give favourable conditions to visitors

(TITC) - On 13th April, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Le Phuc, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with HE.Mr. Cui Dong Minh - Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Vietnam on the preparation and safety measures for tourists of the two countries.

After 3 years being affected by the pandemic, the Chinese Government has gradually adjusted policies and started to restart tourism, applying a pilot programme to organise group tours for the Chinese people to a number of countries including Vietnam, stated HE.Mr. Cui Dong Minh - Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. In 2019, the number of Chinese visitors travelling abroad reached 150 million trips, of which more than 5 million arrivals to Vietnam.

Vietnam is a neighbouring country of China, possessing similar culture, customs and habits and beautiful natural scenery. Vietnam has a special charm and is one of the most favourite destinations for Chinese visitors.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc stated, China is an important tourist source market for Vietnam. The adjustment of immigration and pandemic prevention policies from 8th January 2023 is a positive signal for the tourism industry in the early days of 2023. When land and sea border gates are opened, commercial flights between the two countries are resumed, which is expected to bring great opportunities for international tourism activities of the whole industry, as well as localities and businesses.

VNAT has coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to come up with policies and regulations to give favourable conditions to Chinese visitors in particular and international visitors in general to entry and exit Vietnam by road, air and waterway, especially for localities bordering China and rich in tourism potential. Resuming commercial flights connecting big cities, airports and main tourist hubs has promoted for Chinese tourists to Vietnam.

Since the travel demands of Chinese and international visitors have changed post pandemic, Vietnam has built tourism products and services in accordance with the specific demands and characteristics of Chinese visitors, as well as investment in upgrading of facilities.

Regarding the security and safety for international tourists to Vietnam, the management of destinations, inspection and control of the quality of tourism services in the area has been strengthen; Carefully on organising the reception of international tourists to Vietnam at tourist zones, spots, tourism business establishments and tourism service hubs; other factors such as service/product price, food hygiene, fire prevention, environmental sanitation have been put as priorities.

Finally, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc highly supported the strengthening of cooperation and enhancing information exchange of the both sides, towards the aim of ensuring the legitimate interests of tourists in each country.
