This event is also to welcome the official visit of the Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue to the Republic of Argentina that is a part in the framework of the three-nation Latin America tour (Cuba, Argentina and Uruguay).

Attending the event were Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue; Mr. Tristán Bauer - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Argentina; members of high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam’s NA; leaders of ministries, departments, central branches and localities of Vietnam and Argentina, press agencies of the two countries.

Giving his opening remarks at the special programme, H.E Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) stated, by the time, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Argentina has made important strides and developed strongly. Especially since the establishment of a comprehensive partnership in 2010, cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina has been increasingly promoted in many fields. With its position as the third largest economy in Latin America, a member of the G20, Argentina is an important leading partner of Vietnam in the region. Vietnam is Argentina's third largest trading partner in Asia and a key partner in South-South cooperation. Argentina, on the other hand, is Vietnam's third largest trading partner in Latin America. Along with economic relations, cooperation in the fields of culture-sports-tourism has achieved many concrete results and has great potential for expansion.

H.E Mr. Nguyen Van Hung stressed, culture has the power to connect the friendship between peoples. For a long time, the Vietnamese people have loved the culturally rich Argentina - the land of charming Tango and passionately following the rhythm of the ball “dancing” under the magic feet of the World Football Champions Maradona, Messi… In Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism always creates favourable conditions and coordinates with Argentine cultural and diplomatic agencies to organise photo exhibitions, film weeks, art performances… Over the past 25 years, the Ministry has actively coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Buenos Aires to organise many meaningful activities, introducing Vietnamese culture, history, country and people to the people of Argentina, joining hands to promote friendship and solidarity between localities and mutual understanding between the two nations.

Also within the framework of Vietnamese Culture Day in Argentina, people in Buenos Aires had the opportunity to visit the Exhibition on “Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man” and enjoy typical works of Vietnamese cinema at Vietnam Film Week in Argentina.

Vietnam Film Week in Argentina introduces 05 films including Dreamy Eyes; Em và Trịnh; Forget Me Not; The Legend of Quan Tien and Children Of The Mist from 26th to 28th April 2023 at Kirchner Cultural Center. Dreamy Eyes was chosen to premiere on the opening day of Vietnam Film Week in Argentina.

Previously, in the capital city of Havana (Cuba) on 20th April 2023, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Cuban Ministry of Culture and relevant agencies organised a special political-art programme to celebrate the success of the special session of the 10th Cuban National Assembly, commemorating the 60th founding anniversary of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of Fidel Castro Ruz’s first visit to Vietnam and the newly liberated zone in Quang Tri Province. The Vietnam - Cuba exhibition also took place to present the Cuban public with special and typical photos of the rare and special friendship between the two countries and enhance cooperation and development between the National Assembly of Vietnam and Cuba.
