(TITC) - Vietnam Airlines and the Singapore Tourism Board has officially signed a memorandum of cooperation for 2 years (period 2023-2025), opening up opportunities to stimulate tourism demand in the context of tourism in strong recovery, Vietnam as well as Singapore becoming popular destinations for both leisure and business tourism. The signing ceremony takes place on 15 August 2023.

The signing of cooperation takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations as well as the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between Singapore and Vietnam in 2023.
As part of the cooperation, the two sides will coordinate to implement marketing campaigns to promote the new and unique travel experiences of Singapore and Vietnam Airlines as favorite choices for travelers.
Vietnam is currently one of Singapore's 10 important source markets with more than 280,000 visitor arrivals in seven months of 2023. This data shows a significant growth of up to 123% over the same period last year. Before the pandemic, the number of visitors from Vietnam to Singapore maintained a steady growth of up to 13% annually.
On the other hand, Singapore is also an important strategic market of Vietnam Airlines in Southeast Asia. Within 30 years since the airline opened its first route from Vietnam to Singapore, more than 7 million passengers have used its service to move between the two countries. The airline currently operates 35 flights per week between Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore.
According to Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa - Chairman of Vietnam Airlines, “Vietnam Airlines hopes that the cooperation with the Singapore Tourism Board will be a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation in the future, strongly promoting the goals of recovering the two countries' tourism industries, as well as the important friendship between Vietnam and Singapore. Thanks to its extensive network of routes, Vietnam Airlines can help strengthen the connection between the two ASEAN countries and key markets around the world, bringing more diverse options to passengers".
Expressing her pleasure to be the first National Tourism Administration to sign a cooperation agreement with Vietnam Airlines, an important partner in Southeast Asia, said Ms. Ow Melissa, Chief executive the Singapore Tourism Board, Vietnam is currently an important tourism market for Singapore and has strong growth potential in the future.
