Congratulations on the success of Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi Opening Ceremony, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh said, this is one of the largest commercial and entertainment complexes in the region, and also one of Lotte's largest investment projects in Vietnam. VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi will provide attractive, prestigious and quality new services and products for tourists and residents.

Regarding Vietnam tourism situation, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh is glad to inform that post Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam is one of the countries that restored tourism the earliest with open policy. From 15th March 2022, Vietnam fully reopens tourism, and welcomes international tourists to the country with many favourable policies and unique tourism promotion programmes. In 2022, the tourism industry welcomed 3.7 million international arrivals and served more than 101 million domestic visitor arrivals. In the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed 7.8 million international arrivals and served about 86 million domestic arrivals. By the end of September, Vietnam had completed the yearly target of welcoming 8 million international visitor arrivals and set a new goal of welcoming over 12 million international visitors to Vietnam by the end of the year. In the first 8 months of the year, Korean visitors to Vietnam ranked first with about 2.3 million arrivals, followed by Chinese visitors in the second place with about 950 thousand arrivals.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh added, currently, there is an increasing demand of travelling to Korea from Vietnamese tourists. In the first 8 months of the year, there were over 1.3 million Vietnamese tourist arrivals travelling to Korea. Vietnam and Korea are comprehensive strategic partners of each other, the two countries also have cultural similarities. Along with that, the Vietnam - Korea airline connection is extremely convenient due to numerous direct flights back and forth and relatively short flight times. With the great tourism potential of the two countries, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that the Korean government will have policies to create additional favourable visa conditions for Vietnamese tourists coming to Korea. At the same time, the two sides continue to coordinate closely to increase the number of tourists travelling between the two countries in the coming time.

Currently, this is Lotte's second commercial centre and hotel in Vietnam, and in the future the Group will continue to expand in other provinces and cities to serve the shopping and entertainment demands of residents and tourists.

The CEO of Lotte Hotel further affirmed that Lotte Group will contribute to increasing the number of Korean tourists and international tourists in general coming to Vietnam to contribute to promoting the development of Vietnam's tourism industry in the coming time. Besides, Mr. Kim Tae Hong hopes that VNAT can propose to higher authorities to promulgate loosening policies and create more favourable conditions for granting work permits for Korean workers to Vietnam.
