Attending the programme were Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Deputy Ambassador of Vietnam in Korea, Mr. Lee Chang Kun - Vietnam Tourism Ambassador in Korea, more than 80 guests who are representatives of airlines, travel agencies, MICE organisers, golf, influencers (KOLs) and Korean press agencies.

Speaking at the programme, Mr. Tran Phuoc Son, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council indicated that Korea has always been the top international tourist market to Da Nang in recent times. Da Nang City's tourism industry always focuses on and is active in promotional activities in Korea, with the desire to bring Korean tourists new and quality experiences. In particular, the new policy on entry visas to Vietnam from 15th August 2023 will create easier and more convenient travel conditions for international tourists, including Koreans.

Korea has always led the international tourist source markets to Da Nang. After Vietnam resumed international tourism, Da Nang tourism recovered positively and made a breakthrough. As of first 9 months of 2023, the number of visitors served by accommodation establishments is estimated to reach more than 5.8 million arrivals, equal to 115% compared to the same period in 2019; International visitors are estimated to reach 1.56 million arrivals, equal to 98% compared to the same period in 2019, of which Korea is the leading international source market with more than 1 million visitor arrivals, accounting for 48% of the international visitor arrivals to Da Nang. In order to meet the information demands of travel and service units and continue to promote sustainable tourism cooperation and exchange between Korea and Da Nang, Vietnam.

According to Micenet - The leading reputable MICE tourism news site for Australia, New Zealand and neighbouring regions, Da Nang has been mentioned as an ideal MICE destination in the region, growing to become a destination for conferences, seminars, events and appreciation and reception activities. To promote the development of the international MICE tourism market, Da Nang city has issued the Domestic and International MICE Visitors Support Programme 2023. In particular, domestic and international business delegations coming to Da Nang are welcomed at the airport with a check-in model of MICE Da Nang, welcome banners, flowers for delegation leaders and Da Nang specialty gifts for members of the group, assist in posting welcome information on LED screens at the baggage claim area at the terminal.

At the Da Nang Tourism Introduction Programme, the Department of Tourism updated destination information, orienting tourism development towards a vibrant event and festival city, and provided information about new products and services, focusing on products on beach resorts, MICE tourism, and golf tourism for the Korean market.

Da Nang is positioning its golf destination brand on the regional and world golf tourism map by hosting the Asian Development Tour golf tournament for 3 consecutive years from 2022 to 2024. The tournament called BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang was successfully held in 2022 and 2023, attracting the attention of many professional golfers, including typical names from Korea: Minhyeok Yang, Hyukchul Shin, Minwoo Park. Strengthening the theme of MICE and golf in promotional activities, the Da Nang Department of Tourism aims to make Da Nang a high-quality tourism and service centre, attracting high-spender visitors to promote the city's tourism economy.
