(TITC) - On 13th October, in Guilin City, Guangxi, China, the Opening Ceremony of 2023 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition took place. The Vietnamese delegation led by Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), together with the Vietnam Tourism Development Fund (VTDF) and Vietnamese tourism businesses attended the event.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Li Chu, Mayor of Guilin, said, Guilin is a world-famous tourist city. It is one of the top four Chinese tourist destinations recommended by UNWTO. Each year it attracts over 100 million visits and for years it has been one of the 10 most visited Chinese cities by overseas tourists.

In 2015, the China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition settled permanently in Guilin. After eight years of professional development, the exhibition has grown into the most influential and appealing international tourism exhibition brand in the China-ASEAN region. It has not only helped upgrade the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and the Belt and Road Initiative but also served as the best example of mutual benefit and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN countries.

Mayor Li Chu believes that tourism cooperation and exchanges between China and ASEAN countries will enter broader areas, deeper levels, and higher standards, expects this event to promote people-to-people connectivity and cultural exchange, injecting new strength into the global tourism industry for recovery and revitalization.
With the theme “To meet on the beautiful land, to start together hand in hand”, 2023 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition’s scale is 40,000 square metres, with International Cultural and Tourist Exhibition Area, Domestic Cultural and Tourist Exhibition Area, Guangxi Cultural and Tourist Exhibition Area, International Merchandise Exhibition Area, Cultural and Tourist Equipment Exhibition Area, Intangible Cultural Heritage & Cultural Creative Exhibition Area.

At this tourism exhibition, the Vietnam Tourism Pavilion is designed with open space, which displays and introduces to visitors attractive and unique destinations of Vietnam including Nha Trang, Binh Thuan, Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang, Ha Noi, Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Quang Ninh; tourism products such as high-end resort tourism products, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, health care tourism, culinary... In addition, the event of Visit Vietnam Year 2024 in Dien Bien is also introduced and promoted at the exhibition.
2023 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition took place from 13th to 15th October and attracted tourism businesses in the fields of smart tourism, health tourism, rural revitalization, tourism equipment, recreation tourism, culture Expo and cultural creative and tourism commodities. According to the Organising Board, there are 14 countries and 24 provinces of China attending the exhibition. At the same time, the exhibition also attracted the participation of hundreds of businesses and thousands of members of the public from China and the ASEAN region.
Throughout the exhibition, there were also thematic Forums, networking of exhibitors and buyers, inspections of travel resources for professional buyers and activities for honorary countries…
