The roadshow was organised for the first time by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Fund (DTPF) and the Department of Tourism. The event aims to open up opportunities to connect with Philippine travel and tourism partners about Da Nang destinations with typical sightseeing, resort and festival products. One of the highlights of the event is the introduction of the direct flight route of Manila - Da Nang operated by Cebu Pacific Air. The direct flight connecting the capital Manila of the Philippines and Da Nang, Central Vietnam will be officially inaugurated from 7th December 2023 with the frequency of 3 flights/day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

A representative of Cebu Pacific Air said, by expanding the flight network, the Philippines will attract more tourists from new markets such as Central Vietnam. Da Nang is an attractive new destination for Filipinos and the direct flight from Manila to Da Nang will be highly effective, contributing to the exchange of visitors from the two markets.

According to the UNWTO, the total value of overseas tourism spending by Filipinos reached more than USD 5.9 billion in 2019 and recovered to USD 3.42 billion in 2021. The proportion of Filipinos travelling abroad continues to increase by 160% in 2022. The level of willingness to travel and favourable conditions from direct flights of Cebu Pacific Airlines will be the insurance to the growth in the number of visitors from the Philippines to Da Nang and Central Vietnam in the near future.
