(TITC) - On 14th November 2023, in Ha Noi, H.E. Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Kanat Tumysh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Vietnam.

MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong said, over the course of more than 30 years, Vietnam and Kazakhstan have a relationship of friendship and cooperation rich in tradition and still continuously developing. In particular, thanks to promotion and cooperation efforts in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism, Vietnam and Kazakhstan have achieved many good results.
Vietnam and Kazakhstan have signed a number of bilateral cooperation agreements. Recently in August, during the visit to Vietnam of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan.
According to MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, the potential of cooperation in culture, sports and tourism between Vietnam and Kazakhstan is huge. Therefore, the two sides need to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, art troupes to exchange and perform in each country; create favourable conditions for both sides to participate in bilateral and multilateral cultural and artistic activities. On the occasion of today's working visit, the two sides will discuss cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism as well as the organisation of cooperative activities and programmes to celebrate the good relationship between the two countries.

Regarding the organisation of Vietnamese Culture Day in Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan Culture Day in Vietnam, the two sides need to soon have a discussion and have specific plans to carefully prepare for this event. Within the framework of the programme, not only will the beauty and quintessence of Vietnamese culture be introduced, but there will be joint performances between artists from the two countries to demonstrate the good friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan during the days.
Regarding the field of tourism, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) indicated that the relationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan is getting better gradually, especially bilateral visa exemption is a favourable condition to promote tourism development and increase mutual exchange of visitors. With the two sides signing a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu suggested, the two sides will discuss in more detail plans to implement tourism promotion activities as well as joint activities between the two countries. At the same time, he proposed that Kazakhstan participates in international tourism fairs held in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City every year to promote tourism as well as spread information about Kazakhstan tourism to the public. In addition, increase flight frequency and expand route network between Kazakhstan and Vietnam.
H.E.Mr. Kanat Tumysh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Vietnam informed, the government has established the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan shared that, in 2024, on the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Almaty city, this country is implementing a plan to place a statue of Uncle Ho. H.E.Mr. Kanat Tumysh hopes that MOCST will provide necessary and related information, processes and work content to carry out this project.
Regarding the field of tourism and aviation, according to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kanat Tumysh, airlines are operating direct flights from Kazakhstan to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc and plan to operate direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City in the near future. This is an opportunity for the number of tourists between the two countries to grow strongly, especially when the two countries have signed a bilateral visa exemption agreement.

Ambassador Kanat Tumysh also supports strengthening the organisation of cultural and artistic exchange activities between Vietnam and Kazakhstan. At the same time, the Ambassador hopes that the two countries will support each other with experience in developing a number of sports and support each other at major arenas. Sports federations and associations of the two countries need to regularly keep in touch and exchange information with each other. Ambassador Kanat Tumysh further affirmed he would make efforts to promote contact at all levels; Research and propose signing more cooperation documents and implementing many specific activities to develop culture, sports and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in depth and substance.
