Attending the meeting were Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc, Vice Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee and leaders of some departments and agencies of Soc Trang Province.

At the meeting, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong congratulated Cambodia for successfully organising the 7th National Assembly election and SEA Game 32, 2023.

According to MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam continues to be an important milestone, actively contributing to consolidating, strengthening and further developing the relationship of good neighbours, traditional friendship, comprehensive and sustainable cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, it contributes to promoting friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hopes that, in the coming time, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts Cambodia and the Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City and Soc Trang Province will work closely together to take the most of resources to further strengthen exchanging foreign information to promote the image of the country and people of the two countries as well as have more effective cooperation in all fields. In 2024, Soc Trang will organise a regional boat racing tournament. The MOCST of Vietnam and Soc Trang Province will invite Cambodia to participate in the boat racing tournament, through the Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mrs. Net Phoumary highly appreciates the close solidarity of the two Parties, the two States and the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia. At the same time, acknowledging the interest of the Party, State of Vietnam and Soc Trang provincial authority in particular in developing life and preserving traditional cultural and artistic forms of the Khmer people. Mrs. Net Phoumary was pleased that the MOCST of Vietnam created good conditions for cultural exchange activities during the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam to have the opportunity to exchange and perform. This is an exchange activity with practical significance in enhancing understanding, solidarity and friendship between the people of the two countries, actively contributing to consolidating and developing neighbourly relations and cooperation for mutual development of the State and people of the two countries.

Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam was launched on 3rd December, at Soc Trang Provincial Cultural and Conference Center with the participation of the Cambodian Kingdom Art Troupe. "Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam" was first held in 2007 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries and Soc Trang is one of three localities (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Soc Trang) was chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the event venue. And this is the fourth time Soc Trang Province was chosen as the venue for the opening of Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam.
