(TITC) - On 2nd February, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) attended the Annual Business Meet and Tet Reception 2024. The event was jointly organised by the Indian Business Chamber in Ha Noi (INCHAM) and the Embassy of India in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Indronil Sengupta, INCHAM's Chairman said, 2024 marks the 25th year of establishment of Indian Business Chamber in Ha Noi. During these past 25 years in Vietnam, INCHAM was glad to see the Vietnam - India bilateral relations fostering trade as an important pillar.

In 2023, despite the downturn trend of the world economy, India is one of the few markets that have a positive growth. Vietnam exports to India reached a turnover of 8.5 billion USD, growing 6.8% compared to 2022. And while Vietnam is in the top 4 ASEAN countries that has trade relations with India, India is also the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in South Asia, added INCHAM's Chairman Indronil Sengupta.
The Tet Reception 2024 was organised to celebrate achievements of the Year of the Cat, and to welcome the upcoming Year of the Dragon. This is an opportunity for INCHAM to express our sincere thanks to their business partners and officials for their continued support and commitment to India and Vietnam's Economic, Business and Trade relations. INCHAM's Chairman Indronil Sengupta hopes the partnership between India and Vietnam will continue to develop and prosper.
Regarding the tourism field, India is a large potential market for Vietnam's tourism industry. In 2023, Vietnam welcomed 392 thousand visitor arrivals from India, 2.3 times higher than in 2019 before the pandemic. In recent times, the tourism industry has implemented many promotional activities in the Indian market. Airlines of the two countries have maintained and expanded flight routes connecting major cities of the two countries. Vietnam is also promoting investment attraction to develop Halah tourism products. This is the basis to continue developing the potential to strongly attract tourists from India to Vietnam in the coming time.
