(TITC) - On 22nd February 2024, Le Jacques Cartier cruise ship (France) carried 150 luxury passengers from France, America, England... to visit Phu Quoc pearl island (Kien Giang Province).

According to Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Head of Superyacht Operations Devision of Le Jacques Cartier, Le Jacques Cartier docked at Phu Quoc port at 7 a.m. on 22nd February.
This super yacht departs from Sihanoukville (Kingdom of Cambodia) to Phu Quoc for tourists to visit the pearl island. After that, the super yacht moved to Con Dao Island, Ho Chi Minh City before returning to France.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh said that 150 passengers on the super yacht are luxury guests, of which French guests account for more than 70%. “French high-end passengers are quite fond of exploring Vietnam's seas and islands. Phu Quoc in particular is a new market for French cruise ships. It is expected that in the coming time there will be many French cruise ships bringing tourists to Phu Quoc. For now, by the end of 2024, there will be 2 luxury cruise ships carrying French passengers to Phu Quoc”, said Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh.
In Phu Quoc, the group of tourists visited and explored Ham Ninh fishing village, which is over 100 years old, and enjoyed the fishing village's specialties, especially Ham Ninh crab; visit the Vietnamese Communist POW Prison - Phu Quoc; Ho Quoc Pagoda....
Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee, said, in addition to air and high-speed boats, international tourists come to Phu Quoc quite a lot by cruise ship. Localities expect highly from cruise and cruise tourism in the New Year 2024 from the markets of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand... and some European countries.

“Phu Quoc International Passenger Port has completed many items and is expected to be announced and put into temporary operation in 2024 to welcome international tourists to the island for sightseeing, recreation, and shopping. Phu Quoc will focus on improving security, and environmental sanitation; encourage tourism businesses to constantly improve product quality, develop new unique, diverse and high-class tourism products as well as have promotional programmes to attract more visitors, added Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee Huynh Quang Hung.
