Informing about the event, Mr. Tran Phuoc Anh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs said, the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival is one of the largest festivals held annually, winning the attention of people in Ho Chi Minh City as well as tourists.

In 2023, the 8th Japan - Vietnam Festival on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations took place successfully with many meaningful and outstanding activities, attracting nearly 500,000 visitor arrivals.

The 9th Japan - Vietnam Festival in  Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be held with the theme "Hold hands together - From now on" to strengthen connections, promote cultural, commercial and culinary exchanges, contributing to further tightening the good relationship between Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular with Japan. At the same time, helping businesses of the two countries find and promote business cooperation opportunities and introduce strong products of the two countries.

The 9th Japan - Vietnam Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from 9th-10th March ​2024, includes many commercial, culinary and tourism exchange activities; promoting Vietnam - Japan products and a diverse and unique cultural and artistic exchange programme between Vietnam and Japan in 2 days 9th and 10th March 2024 at Area B, 23/9 Park.

Mr. Tran Phuoc Anh expressed his confidence, the 9th Japan - Vietnam Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to reap many practical results, contributing to connecting the people of Vietnam and Japan, creating a solid basis to promote cooperation between the two countries to develop more deeply and substantially.

The 9th Japan - Vietnam Festival will take place with main activities such as: Trade, culinary and tourism exchange programme; promoting Vietnam-Japan products and cultural and artistic exchange programmes between Vietnam and Japan; trade seminars and forums promote Japanese tourism in Vietnam.

Mr. Ono Masuo, Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City said, the new feature of this year's Festival is that it will bring visitors many interesting activities such as: Experiencing traditional Japanese dances such as Yosakoi and Awa Odori; enjoying vibrant J-POP from famous vocal groups and unique combined performances between Vietnamese and Japanese artists; participating in cosplay activities; snow experience; enjoying Japanese dishes; exploring the rich world of Anime and Manga. In particular, this year, at the Festival, there will be an area to experience Japan's unique bicycle culture.
