From Ulaanbaatar, visitors can reach many other destinations in Mongolia through 8 domestic flights. Not only bringing Vietnamese tourists to Mongolia, Mongolian Airlines also hopes that Ulaanbaatar will be a transit point to bring international tourists from distant markets to Vietnam.

Aviation and tourism connections between Mongolia and Vietnam have been increasingly tightened in recent years. In addition to Mongolian tour groups coming to Vietnam by charter flights, regular flights from Nha Trang to Ulaanbaatar was also established at the end of 2023. Vietnam's sunny destinations are increasingly attractive to Mongolian tourists, especially when Mongolia enters the cold winter.

The Mongolian Embassy in Vietnam said, the visa exemption policy to Mongolia for Vietnamese tourists has officially been applied from March 2024. Mr. Munkhnasan Oldokh - Vice President of the Mongolia Tourism Association said that the direct flights coming into operation will significantly reduce travel time for tourists from the two countries, from over 10 flight hours (depending on transit time in Korea or Hong Kong, China...) to just under 7 flight hours. Mongolia's tourism industry hopes that after Mongolian Airlines operates direct flights to Vietnam, airlines in Vietnam will also promote opening more direct flights connecting the two countries.

Besides the visa exemption policy, the obvious differences in landscape, climate, and indigenous culture between the two countries are also what attract tourists. "Mongolian tourists like Vietnam's seas. Recently, many Mongolians have come to Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang… On the contrary, the desert landscape, ice and snow or the lives of tribes in Mongolia are particularly attractive factors for Vietnamese tourists. Winter temperatures in Mongolia can drop to minus 40 degrees Celsius," told Mr. Munkhnasan Oldokh to VOV.VN reporters.
