(TITC) - From 27th April 2024, visitors to the island communes of Van Don District (Quang Ninh Province) are not allowed to carry any disposable plastic products. Specifically, disposable plastic is prohibited from 5 island communes: Quan Lan, Minh Chau, Ngoc Vung, Thang Loi, and Ban Sen.

Tourists and residents are supported in using recycled, environmentally friendly products to replace plastic bags.

At Ao Tien International Port (Cai Rong) and 6 wharves in 5 island communes, billboards and posters with the theme "Do not bring plastic waste to the island" are synchronously installed and encouraged tourists to leave plastic waste (bottles, cups, plastic bags) right in the gathering area at the exit and entry gates to and from the island.
