(TITC) - VietjetAir has just organised the opening of the direct flight route Ha Noi - Hiroshima, Vietjet's 8th flight route between Vietnam and Japan and the first direct flight route between Vietnam and Hiroshima.
Passengers on the inaugural flight also received lovely souvenirs from Vietjet and Hiroshima Airport.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, Mr. Yuzaki Hidehiko congratulated Vietjet: “I am very happy to witness the launching of Hiroshima-Ha Noi flight route, realising the flight announcement on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's attendance at the G7 event in Hiroshima last year. Hiroshima Prefecture has a close relationship with Vietnam with many large businesses expanding operations to Vietnam and the Vietnamese community living in the prefecture. We expect the new route will open up many opportunities for cooperation, cultural, economic and tourism exchanges."

General Director of Hiroshima International Airport, Mr. Yasuhiro Nakamura shared: “Vietjet's Hiroshima-Ha Noi route is especially important to Hiroshima Airport as it is the first international route to be opened since the pandemic. Congratulations Vietjet and hope that the airline will continue to have more flights to Hiroshima, expanding connections with the southwestern region of Japan. Hiroshima Airport and other parties will continue to provide support to increase flight frequency as travel demand grows."
Vietjet Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Thinh said: “Vietjet is currently serving 116 flights per week between Vietnamese cities and Japan's leading metropolises and destinations including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Japan and now Hiroshima. Vietjet is committed to continuing to expand the flight network between Vietnam and Japan, bringing more convenient travel opportunities at economical costs to the people and tourists of the two countries in particular and the region in general."
Operating from 12th May with 2 round trips per week on Thursdays and Sundays, residents and tourists will travel easily between Ha Noi and Hiroshima with each flight taking about more than 4 hours.
