On 15th June, the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden participated in the ASEAN Trade and Food Fair 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The fair was organised by the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS), in collaboration with the embassies of six ASEAN countries in Sweden, namely Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

President of the Stockholm City Council Mr. Olle Burell, representatives from foreign diplomatic delegations in Sweden, the ASEAN community and local residents visited the fair.

At the event, the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Sweden brought hundreds of products and goods in many fields such as agricultural products, food, handicrafts, textiles, rattan and bamboo... They are popular with tourists.

Notably, dozens of traditional Vietnamese dishes such as spring rolls, banh mi, steamed rice rolls, pyramidal rice dumpling, mixed vermicelli, iced milk coffee, lemon tea... were also introduced and made a good impression on the Swedish public.

This is the first fair organised by ACS yet has attracted special attention from international friends, since it takes place on the occasion when local people prepare to celebrate the Midsommar festival (longest day of the year for the Swedes).

The Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden promoted information about Vietnam's potential in various fields: science, technology, renewable energy, logistics, high-tech agriculture, aquaculture, tourism, and services…; bringing Vietnamese brands and national cultural identities to international friends.

Vietnam’s participation at the fair helps bring to promote the culture, trade, tourism and cuisine of Viet Nam and ASEAN countries to local people and international friends, contributing to promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and Sweden and celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations this year (1969-2024).
