On 30th July, Da Nang City People’s Committee coordinated with relevant units to open the Press Conference of "Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024".

Accordingly, the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024 is hosted by Da Nang City in coordination with BRG Group for the third consecutive year with a prize of up to USD$100,000.

BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024 will attract the participation of 144 top Vietnamese and international golfers.

Speaking at the Press Conference, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee said, the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024 will bring golf lovers world-class shots from professional golfers along with many attractive and unique sideline activities.

Consecutive hosting of the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang in 3 consecutive years 2022, 2023 and 2024, contributes to affirming Da Nang's position as "Asia's leading event - festival destination".

"This is also an important milestone in developing the city's golf tourism potential to become one of the leading golf tourism destinations in Asia and the world, contributing to promoting the development of high-quality tourism, in line with the city's tourism development orientation", emphasised Mr. Tran Chi Cuong.

According to the Organising Board, in 2024, BRG Group continues to accompany the city as the title sponsor. The prize value of season 3 continues to be kept at USD$100,000 with the sponsor of USD$25,000 from the tournament partner, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank), and the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort & Convention Center, a world-class resort serving as the tournament's official hotel.

Mr. Mark Reeves, Deputy General Director of BRG Group shared, the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang is an important part of the Group's strategy to elevate Danang to become a leading golf tourism destination in the region and the world.

Mr. Ken Kudo, General Director of Asian Development Tour expressed his joy when the Asian Development Tour, one of the main tournaments of Asian Tour, returned to Da Nang, Vietnam.

According to Mr. Ken Kudo, the tournament witnessed the emergence of many young champions and gradually became popular with ADT members, many young golfers want to challenge themselves at Legend Da Nang Golf Resort and lift the trophy to mark their career prospects at the Asian Development Tour.

The defending champion of the 2022 BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang is Chinese golfer Chen Guxin, and in 2023 that is golfer Aaron Wilkin from Australia.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism shared, the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang is one of the initiatives and collaborative efforts to promote golf tourism in Danang, restoring the tourism economy from 2022 right after the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the advantage of owning many high-class golf courses in the region and the strong development of golf tourism in key international markets, Da Nang identifies the important position of golf tourism in its specialised market segmentation strategy. In the first 6 months of 2024, the total number of golf rounds of 3 golf courses in Da Nang reached 88,502 rounds, increased by more than 4,000 rounds compared to the same period in 2023 (84,327 rounds), Legend Danang Golf Resort course dominated with more than 59,000 rounds.

Within the framework of the event, Da Nang City will organise fam trip to experience golf courses and tourism products from 27th - 29th August with the participation of golf tours from Taiwan (China), Australia, Japan and Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia); Professional - amateur golf exchange tournament (Pro - Ams) and Da Nang tourism experience programme within the framework of the tournament.
