(TITC) - A nearly 160-member Malaysia delegation visited the Vietnamese Pearl Island Phu Quoc.
On 9th August 2024, AirAsia flight AK545 carrying nearly 160 members of the Malaysian travel agents landed off Phu Quoc, starting their fam trip in this beautiful Island of Vietnam. This is as part of efforts to inspect tourist attractions and products. Members of the Malaysian fam trip delegation include major travel agencies, businesses, and tourism corporations in Malaysia; including Mr. Mita - Chairman of Golden Destination Group and many travel agencies specialising in exploiting cruise tourism and MICE tourism suitable to the potential and strengths of Phu Quoc.
During the trip from 9th August to 11th August, Malaysian travel agents toured many beautiful sightseeing spots in Phu Quoc such as the Kiss Bridge, an iconic work praised by CNN; Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park; The world's longest 3-wire sea-crossing cable car; …
According to report from VNAT, Malaysia is one of Vietnam's major markets. In the first 6 months of 2024, this market ranked 6th among the 10 largest international tourist source markets in Vietnam.
The leader of Kien Giang Province's Department of Tourism said that Malaysia ranks 8th out of top 10 international tourist source markets to Kien Giang in 2023, with 24,000 visitors; in the first 6 months of 2024, there were nearly 14,000 Malaysian visitor arrivals to Kien Giang.
Currently, there is an average of 4-5 flights per week from Kuala Lumpur Capital (Malaysia) to Phu Quoc. There are times when there are up to 7 flights per week.
After this group, on 11th August, a second group of 77 members also from Malaysia arrived in Phu Quoc to inspect and connect tourism with the island.
