This is the third time Khanh Hoa has organised a conference to promote tourism with the Indian market. Nearly 200 tourism businesses from Khanh Hoa and India attended the conference, to seeking opportunities and partners to attract visitors to these two markets.

At the conference, leaders of Khanh Hoa Tourism Industry and tourism businesses in the province, together with representatives of Indian tourism businesses, shared the tourism potential, strengths of the two sides, exchange on tourism cooperation orientation, solutions to promote tourism between India - Vietnam in general and India - Khanh Hoa in particular.

Thereby, delegates from both sides had many opinions on opening a direct flight route from India to Khanh Hoa; on policies to support travel businesses when bringing tourists from Khanh Hoa to India and vice versa; coordinate training and foster knowledge about cultural characteristics, cuisine, destinations, etc. for tour guides; coordinate and synchronously implement promotional programmes and market mutual tourism products, ensuring to meet the tastes and demands of tourists.

Coordinate the organisation of tours to learn about and exchange culture and cuisine; spiritual tourism; natural landscape discovery tourism; tourism - conferences… Especially tourism combined with wedding parties - a promising field from India. With each wedding party attracting hundreds, even 400-500 visitors, the stay usually lasts up to 5 days and 4 nights and the spending can reach millions of USD…

With many favourable natural conditions and unique culture; besides, tourism infrastructure with nearly 65 thousand rooms, of which, over 41% are 3-5 star standard rooms, many tourist areas, luxury hotels... tourism businesses in Khanh Hoa affirm that they are qualified to meet the demands of tourists from the Indian market. Especially in the culinary field - a factor that is considered difficult to satisfy for diners from this market.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee shared, the conference is an opportunity for localities and tourism businesses from both sides to sit together, introduce and learn about the tourism conditions and images of the partners, thereby proposing solutions to promote two-way tourism development cooperation.

Mr. Le Huu Hoang also hopes that the Consulate General of India will pay attention to supporting, accompanying, and creating favourable conditions for tourism development cooperation between Khanh Hoa Province and India.

He hoped that Khanh Hoa Province would cooperate with Indian businesses, directors and artists to produce cultural and cinematic products introducing the culture, people, land and tourism of Khanh Hoa, first and foremost in the movie "Love in Vietnam" - the first diplomatic cooperation movie between Vietnam and India (expected to start filming in September 2024)...

Mr. Tushar Garg, Deputy Consul - Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City affirmed, the conference is an important part of the Vietnam Namaste Festival 2024, a cultural event aimed at strengthening ties between India and Vietnam.

The festival is a vibrant platform to showcase India's rich culture, diverse cuisine and exciting tourism opportunities. Including the tourism conference in the festival demonstrates the commitment to promoting tourism cooperation between the two countries, especially between India and the beautiful province of Khanh Hoa.

Khanh Hoa, with its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches and vibrant culture, shares many similarities with India's diverse tourist destinations. Accordingly, the two sides can cooperate in developing health and yoga tourism, eco-tourism and cultural exchange programmes.

“India is famous for its health and yoga resorts and Khanh Hoa with its peaceful environment is also an ideal place for these experiences. Wellness partnerships can attract travellers seeking spiritual healing and growth. Both India and Khanh Hoa are blessed with natural beauty and biodiversity. Joint ecotourism initiatives can promote sustainable tourism practices and draw attention to the ecological treasures of our regions”, said Mr. Tushar Garg.

Mr. Tushar Garg also pledged that the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organise more events to enhance understanding and tourism cooperation between India and Khanh Hoa Province; promote local culture and tourism to Indian people to enhance exchanges and cooperation in all fields with Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general…
