Located downstream of the poetic Thu Bon River, in the coastal plain of Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, about 30 km south of Da Nang City, Hoi An stands out with its unique, ancient architecture. Many old quarters were built in the 16th century and still exist almost intact today. Last August, Hoi An was praised by Australian travel site Escape as one of the 13 best destinations for a September vacation. Previously, in April, the World's Best Awards 2024 of the leading travel magazine Travel + Leisure ranked Hoi An 4th in the list of 25 most favourite cities in the world and 3rd in the list of 25 most favourite cities in Asia voted by readers.

Promoting the potential of unique cultural values ​​and characteristic ecological nature, many new tourism products have been developed by Quang Nam Province to stimulate tourism and attract tourists. In mid-2024, Quang Nam Province coordinated with more than 100 tourism businesses to organise a tourism stimulus programme with the theme "Quang Nam - Green Heritage", including 2 phases: “Quang Nam - Summer Emotions” from May to August 2024 and “Quang Nam Golden Season” from September to the end of November 2024. Many new attractive products will be brought to tourists such as: Mossy Old Town, Country Flavors, Hoi An in Flood Season, New Rice Festival… Along with that, the system of luxury hotels and resorts with high-class facilities has been continuously invested in and built, bringing a new look to Hoi An, meeting the diverse demands of tourists.

Hoi An has previously won the title “Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination” in 2029, 2021, 2022, 2023. By continuously achieving the title in 2024, Hoi An is affirming the timeless appeal of the ancient city in the central strip of Vietnam.
