At 8.50 a.m. on 31st August 2024, Colorful Guizhou Airlines flight number GY 701 KWE-HAN carrying 154 passengers aboard from Guiyang City in China landed at Noi Bai International Airport amid a solemn water cannon.

At 10:25 a.m. the same day, flight GY702 HAN-KWE carrying 160 passengers from Ha Noi to Guiyang took off at Noi Bai International Airport.

The airline has scheduled three round-trip flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays each week, making use of the modern wide-body aircraft Airbus A320. It will help to shorten the travel time from Guiyang to Ha Noi with a flight duration of about two hours. Previously travelling by road from Guiyang to Ha Noi took around 12 hours.

By choosing Ha Noi as the airline's first international destination, the opening of a direct flight route from Guizhou to Ha Noi will create conditions for tourists from Guizhou to visit the capital of Vietnam and neighbouring northern provinces, while also creating more opportunities for the capital's residents to have choices when designing short-term tours.
