(TITC) - On 10th September 2024, at the Headquarter of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh welcomed Mr. Graham Cooke - President, Founder of World Travel Awards (WTA) on his visit and present Asia's leading awards to Vietnam.
At the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2024, in a national level, Vietnam was crowned in 3 categories: “Asia’s Leading Destination 2024”, “Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination 2024” and “Asia’s Leading Nature Destination 2024”.

Respectfully presenting the above 3 prestigious awards to the Chairman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Mr. Graham Cooke indicated, Vietnam is not only a leading tourist destination in Asia but also a potential tourism representative of the world. With a series of World Travel Awards achieved over the years, Vietnam is a bright spot on the world tourism map, with strong development and transformation of tourism brands and products. WTA’s President Graham Cooke acknowledged the great efforts of the tourism industry to turn Vietnam into a world-class tourist destination, providing products and services to meet the demands of tourists from all over the world, bringing the tourism industry back stronger.
Expressing gratitude to the President of World Travel Awards for his kindness in presenting the award to Vietnam tourism, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh affirmed, World Travel Awards is a prestigious award in the global tourism industry. The awards that Vietnam has achieved show the international community's love for Vietnam, honouring the unique and special values of natural landscapes, people, culture, cuisine as well as outstanding destinations, tourism products and services of Vietnam.

Regarding Vietnam tourism situation, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh shared, in the first 8 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed 11.4 million international visitor arrivals, up 45.8% over the same period in 2023 and up 1.0% over the same period in 2019 - the time before the COVID-19 pandemic. In only August 2024, the number of international visitors reached over 1.4 million, an increase of 17.7% over the same period last year, showing positive signals for the tourism industry. Most markets recorded growth, some of the top source markets to Vietnam include Korea, China, the US, Japan, Australia…
VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that, in the coming time, Vietnam tourism will continue to receive attention from the World Travel Awards in particular and international partners in general to strengthen cooperation and promote Vietnam tourism to the world.
