(TITC) - On 13th September, in Ha Noi, the Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador in Vietnam organised the Business Breakfast with Vietnamese Tour Operators to Promote Tourism of El Salvador. Mr. Nguyen Le Phuc, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) attended and spoke at the event.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ruben Omar Orozco Burgos, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to Vietnam said, based on the Government's policy to promote closer relations with Vietnam, the Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador in Vietnam was established and is also the first Embassy of El Salvador in Southeast Asia. He affirmed that despite the geographical distance between the two countries, El Salvador is constantly making efforts to build bridges, strengthen bilateral relations and promote development in areas of strength, including tourism.
Recognizing that tourism is an effective tool in building a bridge connecting two countries, Ambassador Ruben hopes that El Salvador will become an attractive tourist destination for Vietnamese people. El Salvador's tourism situation is increasingly optimistic, with strong annual growth in tourist arrivals.

Through the Business Breakfast with Vietnamese Tour Operators to Promote Tourism in El Salvador, the Embassy of El Salvador in Vietnam would like to introduce to tourism management agencies and travel agencies about the country and people of El Salvador. El Salvador is a country with a 175-year tradition in the coffee growing industry. “And just like the Vietnamese people, the people of El Salvador are very fond of coffee”, said Mr. Ruben Omar Orozco Burgos.
VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc stressed, the Business Breakfast with Vietnamese Tour Operators to Promote Tourism in El Salvador is a precious opportunity not only to strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two countries but also to explore promising prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism.

Tourism is one of the key economic sectors, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of each country, declared VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc. In 2023, Vietnam welcomed 12.6 million international visitor arrivals, 3.5 times higher than in 2022; Total tourist receipts reached VND 678.3 trillion. 2023 is also a year of strong recovery for Vietnamese tourism. According to Google Destination Insights, International tourists' searches for Vietnam tourism achieved a growth rate of over 75%, ranking 6th globally.
According to VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc, both Vietnam and El Salvador have their own unique natural, cultural and historical advantages, creating an attraction for international tourists. Vietnam boasts stunning natural landscapes, from long beaches to majestic mountains, along with a rich and diverse culture. El Salvador, a country known for its beautiful beaches and Mayan cultural heritage, is also becoming a new and attractive destination in the eyes of international tourists.
“Today's event is an important step for us to build a bridge between the two cultures, promoting bilateral tourism to develop stronger in the future”, said VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc. Through promotional activities, tourism businesses of the two countries will have more opportunities to meet, exchange, and establish long-term partnerships. In particular, in the context of globalisation and economic recovery after the pandemic, the tourism industry plays an important role in creating jobs, improving people's quality of life and promoting cooperation between countries.

Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) stated, the Business Breakfast with Vietnamese Tour Operators to Promote Tourism in El Salvador is a special event, marking the present of Americas travel in Vietnam. VITA’s Chairman Vu The Binh also expressed his joy at welcoming El Salvador's participation at the recent Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) in Ha Noi. “This is a big step forward, an important milestone for the two countries, showing that although the geographical distance between Vietnam and El Salvador is very large, the feelings are extremely close”. Mr. Vu The Binh hopes that in the coming time, there will be many Vietnamese and international tourists coming to El Salvador to explore the beauty, people, enjoy the culture and the coffee of this country.

El Salvador has many famous historical sites, especially those from the pre-Columbian period. Some of El Salvador's most famous monuments are Joya de Cerén, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1993; The ancient city of Tazumal; the El Boqueron crater and the Cascadas de Tamanique waterfall;... El Salvador is famous for its rich and diverse cuisine, with typical dishes such as pupusa and yuca frita.
