At the meeting, MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung shared that, in August, the Vietnamese Government started construction of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi, with a scale of 90 hectares, among the top 10 largest exhibition centres in the world. With this project, Vietnam hopes to make its name on the global Expo economic map, and at the same time become a new growth engine for the entire region.
Minister of Culture of France Rachida Dati stressed, France and Vietnam have a traditional historical relationship, rich cultural cooperation between the two sides and is a bright spot, connecting the friendship between the two nations.
Ms. Rachida Dati also shared that France is very interested in and focuses on developing cultural and creative industries. This is one of the important goals to create momentum for growth, including the growth of the French economy.
According to Ms. Rachida Dati, the two sides have had many cooperation activities in heritage, libraries, and performing arts in the past. She also hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will move towards implementing in-depth activities such as bringing sculptures from the Louvre and Versailles to Vietnam so that the Vietnamese public can directly admire famous works in Vietnam.
Ms. Rachida Dati proposed that the two sides promote cooperation in the field of cinema through Vietnam's participation at the Cannes Film Festival, France and vice versa, France's participation at the Hanoi International Film Festival HANIFF.

At the meeting, MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung agreed with French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati on the proposal to implement activities in the coming time. According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, Vietnam has beautiful landscapes and many unique cultural relics and heritage properties, so there is great potential to promote culture and tourism through cinema. Vietnam is ready to welcome French filmmakers to Vietnam.
