(TITC) - Hai Van Quan has long been praised as “The most majestic pass in the world” thanks to its majestic natural beauty and important strategic military position. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recognized Hai Van Quan as a national historical and architectural relic.
Hai Van Quan relic was built at an altitude of 490 m on the majestic Hai Van mountain. This is a military citadel architectural work, one of the most majestic passes in Viet Nam.
The Hai Van Quan relic is located in Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province and Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city; about 90 km north of Hue city center, and about 28 km south of Da Nang city center. Hai Van Quan has many cultural and historical values and is also a famous scenic spot.
Through the ups and downs of history, Hai Van Quan has witnessed many fierce battles in the struggle to protect the country. At the same time, this relic has also been heavily affected by the climate of heavy rain and harsh sunlight, leading to serious degradation.
The two local authorities have assessed this place as a unique tourism resource, and can become a "gold mine" if managed and exploited scientifically and effectively. Therefore, the two localities have jointly to revive the relic through the classification and implementation of the Hai Van Quan restoration and conservation project. In this restoration, the project focuses on the comprehensive restoration of architectural works, aiming to recreate the beauty and historical value of the relic.
Implementing this project, the two localities of Hue and Da Nang have created a typical model of heritage restoration and conservation. The two cities promote the application of smart technology and digital transformation; increase investment in facilities and means to serve the work of promoting the value of the national relic Hai Van Quan, deploy 3D technology applications, free wifi coverage at tourist attractions, and promptly update existing services and utilities during the Hai Van Quan tour. The two cities, together with the Road Management Department, organize traffic on National Highway 1 through Hai Van Quan; deploy auxiliary items, especially service logistics areas such as parking lots, standard public toilets and souvenir display spaces to serve visitors.
Construction started on December 19, 2021 and after 3 years, the project to preserve, restore, and promote the value of the Hai Van Quan national relic has been completed.
