(TITC) - On 7 November (local time), on the ocassion of the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in the United States, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations in New York.

The VNAT delegation, led by Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, expressed delight at the successful outcomes of the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in New York held on 6 November, where Vietnamese enterprises had established specific partnerships with U.S counterparts.
VNAT’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai also expressed the hope that the Vietnam tourism industry would have opportunities to participate in major international tourism fairs and events in New York in the coming time, thereby strengthening Vietnam’s tourism branding and expanding connections with U.S and global partners.

She noted that VNAT is currently proposing and promoting the establishment of direct flight routes between Vietnam and the U.S East Coast, aiming to facilitate travel and business exchanges between the two countries.
Sharing insights on American travellers’ preferences and market trends, Ms. Hoa Mai reaffirmed that the United States remains one of Vietnam’s key source markets with strong growth potential in the years ahead.
Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations, emphasized that the Mission has always served as the “common home” for the Vietnamese community in New York, and stands ready to support Vietnam’s economic, cultural, and tourism promotion efforts in the host country.
The Ambassador encouraged VNAT and tourism enterprises to share concrete proposals and cooperation initiatives, so that the Mission will foster the coordination with local authorities and partners in New York. He affirmed that the Mission would actively help connect suitable partners and provide databases of potential clients and businesses in the area to facilitate tourism promotion and investment outreach.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet also announced that the Mission would assign a focal point to work closely with VNAT, ensuring effective collaboration in upcoming activities. He further expressed hope to welcome a performance by the Vietnam National Puppetry Troupe in New York, a leading global multilateral hub that gathers nearly 200 missions, territories, and international organizations as a unique opportunity to promote Vietnamese culture and heritage on the world stage.
VNAT’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai extended her sincere appreciation to the Permanent Mission for its continued support. She affirmed that VNAT will devote more resources to developing the U.S market in the coming years.

Looking forward, she highlighted that 2027 will mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s accession to the United Nations, a milestone that presents a meaningful opportunity to organize large-scale cultural and tourism promotion events in New York, further showcasing Vietnam’s tourism potential and cultural identity to the international community.
